School Workshops (Visual Arts)

Employee Therapeutic Arts Workshops

School workshops are available in the Toronto area to introduce children to visual arts as a form of fun and creative expression, and as a lifelong therapeutic tool that can be used to help address, manage, and overcome many conditions, including anxiety, low self confidence, grief and loss, loneliness, fear, uncertainty, and stress. Through workshop participation, reflection, discussion, and understanding of their artwork, students of all ages gain insight into their feelings and discover art as a tool for creativity, coping, communication, increased happiness, improved self confidence, relaxation, fun, and joy.

Catherine enjoys sharing her passion for art as a creative and therapeutic tool with students of all ages and abilities, including those with developmental disabilities and various neuro diversities. No prior art experience is required to participate; students will use a variety of materials and focus on exploring feelings and emotions through the process of creation.

Workshops are tailored to the physical needs of those participating and to the space available. Most participating schools plan for several workshops throughout the school year to enable students from a variety of grades to participate at least once, usually two to three times each throughout the school year.

In life, including at work, art can be a therapeutic tool in helping people manage and overcome many conditions, including anxiety and depression, confidence issues, conflict, burnout, grief/loss, uncertainty, and stress. Through one-on-one, or group participation, reflection, discussion, and understanding of their artwork, employees gain insight into their feelings and discover art as a tool for creativity, coping, communication, increased happiness, improved self confidence, relaxation, team building, better health, and enhanced quality of life.

Catherine has shared her passion for art as a therapeutic tool with businesses and employers of all kinds, introducing individuals and teams from a variety of sectors, to the value, and therapeutic benefits of art participation. No prior art experience is required to participate; clients are encouraged to use a variety of materials and to focus on exploring feelings and emotions through the process of creation.

Whether you wish to offer your employees the opportunity to participate in individual or group sessions, and whether weekly, monthly, quarterly, or as-needed, arts-based wellness workshops help demonstrate to employees, that their workplace and employer value and view them as people deserving of compassion, care, opportunities for growth and self expression, and total wellness.

Workshops are led by Canadian (Toronto-based) artist and art therapy practitioner, and marketing communications and business professional, Catherine Cameron. For workshop requests outside of Toronto, please inquire.
