School Workshops (Visual Arts)
Employee Therapeutic Arts Workshops
Catherine offers engaging school workshops designed to introduce children to the visual arts as a fun, creative outlet and a lifelong therapeutic tool. These workshops help students explore and manage various challenges, including anxiety, low self-confidence, grief and loss, loneliness, fear, uncertainty, and stress. Through art-making, reflection, and guided discussions, students gain deeper insight into their emotions while discovering art as a means of creativity, coping, communication, relaxation, and joy.
Catherine is passionate about sharing the transformative power of art with students of all ages and abilities, including those with developmental disabilities and neurodiversities. No prior art experience is necessary; students work with a variety of materials, focusing on the process of creation as a way to express and understand their feelings.
Workshops are tailored to meet the physical needs of participants and adapt to the available space. Many schools schedule multiple workshops throughout the academic year, allowing students from different grades to participate two to three times.
In life—and at work—art can be a powerful therapeutic tool for managing and overcoming challenges such as anxiety, depression, confidence issues, conflict, burnout, grief, uncertainty, and stress. Through individual or group participation, reflection, discussion, and interpretation of their artwork, employees gain insight into their emotions and discover the benefits of art for creativity, coping, communication, team building, and overall well-being.
Catherine Cameron, a Canadian artist, certified art therapy practitioner, and business professional based in Toronto, has introduced the therapeutic benefits of art to organizations across various sectors. Her workshops help individuals and teams explore their feelings and emotions through the creative process, using a variety of materials. No prior art experience is necessary to participate.
